Playing Blackjack Online

Posted by admin on February 2, 2010

Online Blackjack has become very popular. It is one of the game selections included in online casinos. The problem for most beginners is that it tends to be a little confusing to play.

Most online Blackjack games have become rather simple so that only selecting the option desired and clicking are sufficient. The generation of virtual cards and representations of player to player as well as seeing the dealer’s face up card make the game resemble an actual game. Betting has also become automated online with the need to only type in the amount of the bid and click okay and is automatically deducted. Other options are located on the side of the screen and need only be clicked for the computer to do that option.
By use of 3D effects many casinos have emulated the look and feel of the gaming experience for the online casino player. Many Vegas casinos create their real world casino for their online games.

The only difference other than automation between online play and real world play is that playing Blackjack online is much faster. This is because the hands are generated instantly for each round.

The goal is the same and at the beginning of a round each player receives two cards. The player can “hit” by clicking a button if his cards total under 21 and will receive another card. The ideal total is 21 and the object is to get as close to 21 as possible without going over 21 and still have a higher total than the other players. If a player has 20, he is permitted to split the 20 provided that he can do so into two sets of 10. This increases his chances of winning the player can “hit” to both sets if he has split the 20 and have two tries at becoming the winner of the hand.

Advanced Blackjack Strategy

The right strategy is critical to your chances of winning playing Blackjack. There are different levels of strategies to fit the levels of knowledge and practice of playing Blackjack. Advanced Blackjack strategy lets you learn to optimize your chances.

Learning advanced Blackjack strategy is not for the beginner or intermediate Blackjack player. Without a thorough understanding of the concept of counting cards you will not effectively understand the lessons within advanced Blackjack strategy.

First you should know when to take insurance against a dealer’s Ace. The tendency is to not insure against the Ace. There are times when it is better to take insurance against a dealer’s Ace. On instance is when there are more cards 10s, jacks, queens, and kings left within the remaining deck. The best way to establish this rule is whenever the card count is a minimum of +4 against the dealer’s ace.

Another advanced Blackjack strategy is if you are a beginner level, you tend to hit when the dealer is showing a card and you have 16 as a total against his card. This should not be done each time. Sometimes, you can stand with the 16 when the dealer has a ten if the count is positive and there is only one or more 10 point cards than normal. This means that you should not take a card because the odds are against you. It is also okay to stand when you hold 15 and the dealer is showing a 10 if the count is positive and there are 4 or more 10 point cards. This is not fool proof but will put the odds more in your favor.

It is recommended to “split the 10s” when the dealer shows a 6. After you split the 10s you can pressure the dealer into the possibility of going bust if the card count is a minimum of +5.
