Posted by admin on February 1, 2010

You can win consistently on blackjack if you know the right tips and how you can implement them. If you really want to win the game of blackjack then you have to act smart and play smart. The best part of playing in blackjack is that it is a very easy game. You can master it easily in a short period of time. The main rule in blackjack is to score the highest number of points without going over 21. The counting of cards is also pretty simple. 2-10 is considered as they are. Jack, queen and king are counted as 10 and the ace can be taken as either 1 or 11. Off course, the luckiest figure is 21 as this is the highest amount to win the game.

One good blackjack tip is not to take insurance if one of the up facing cards is an ace. When you take insurance and place a bet that is not more than half the amount of the player’s bet the player can insure that his money will be returned to him. However in that case if the dealer has an ace hiding inside his sleeve then you may lose. However anything besides this will surely ensure a win. Hence it is best not to take any insurance because your major opponent is the dealer and its pointless to place a bet against yourself. You can also go for a blackjack table where the minimum bet is not more than 5% of your total stack.

You can also take advantage of the blackjack strategy card online or at a live casino. These cards help to reduce the house advantage. The player can also get a certain amount if information from two of his cards and one dealer’s cards.

How To Double Down In Blackjack

Doubling down is one of the most popular strategies in blackjack. It is also favored my majority of the players in the game. Doubling down means to double your bet after the dealer has dealt the first 2 cards. Depending on the casino rules you may be allowed to double the amount or maybe double the amount only when your 2 cards total 10 or 11. You may also be able to double down after splitting your 2 cards. Doubling on anything is called DOA while doubling after splitting the cards is called DAS.

Doubling down is one of the most favorable strategies for the players because you are simply doubling your bet amount at a time when the odds are more in your favor and against the house. The best situation for doubling down is when the dealer shows his face cards which raise his potential of going bust. Doubling amount after splitting reduces the house edge by 13% but doubling amount on 10 or 11 increases the house edge considerably. You can easily remember the pattern even if you don’t memorize the numbers.

You can memorize one more rule and that is when the dealer is showing a 2 through a 6. The dealer is more likely to go bust when the cards include 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6. Hence you should remember that when the dealer is showing these cards it is a good time to double your bet amount. The odds are significantly less in your favor but it is considered good when your cards total equals 10 and the dealer’s total equals 11. Hence you should strongly take advantage of the situation by doubling at the right time. Though you know you will not win every time, your chances in the long run increase considerably.
